The ground of Bath Rugby Club is surprisingly close to the city centre, being literally just on the other side of the River Avon from the main shopping streets. Officially called The Recreation Ground, it is so close in fact that you can sometimes hear the crowd cheering from the other side of the river as you go about your business. The club itself as one of the oldest in existence, having been founded in 1865 and as you can see, there is still a very traditional look to the club.
The Rec, as it is known by locals, is also used for other sports at various times of the year, with cricket, hockey and croquet all taking place. The road behind the car park you can see is Great Pulteney Street, and taking a left there will head you straight into town.
