Guide and Virtual Tour of Bath: Bath Locks.
Panorama | Review | Map
The River Avon originates in South Gloucestershire and travels through Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol and finally into the Severn Estuary. This shot of the Bath Locks on the south side of the city is a good indication of what you can expect to see should you ever take a trip along the river in a barge or houseboat.
The river has played a very important part in the development of Bath and continues to be one of the most iconic and popular features of the city. Regardless of whether you are in Bath for a day or are lucky enough to be spending more time in the area, it is impossible not to appreciate the beauty of this river and the glorious buildings which surround it. There are also many pathways along the banks of the river which make for a beautiful walk.
